About

Dear soccer families and supporters,

I am excited to announce that the Ludington Soccer Club is now the West Shore Waves! As the club transitions from our spring 2022 season to fall 2022 season, club officials will be working hard to make it a seamless transition from one brand to another so by fall of 2022 all of our teams, regardless of what age or league our current teams play in, will be re-branded to the West Shore Waves.

With this new brand comes an exciting new logo and crest that you will be able to find not just on our uniforms but other attire that our players will be excited to wear. As a growing club that continues to attract players from Manistee to Shelby areas, we felt it also appropriate to get away from the colors of orange and black traditionally worn by the Ludington Orioles, to colors that are not associated with any particular school so our teams will be outfitted in orange and blues.

The Ludington Soccer Club over the years has strived to give our families and players a great soccer experience at every level, that will always be our top priority. Now we feel it’s time our players look as good as they play and refresh our name, color, and identity when our players take the pitch starting this coming fall. Besides the new look and name, our families shouldn’t notice any other changes, our teams will still be playing in the various leagues we are accustomed to playing in, just under a new identity that hopefully all of our players from various school districts can unite under.

As someone who started playing for this club in 1984 and always enjoyed putting on the orange and black, I look at this club not as an extension of the Ludington Area Schools but more like famous soccer clubs from around the world like Manchester United, Real Madrid, or AC Milan who welcome players from all over. Hopefully this new brand will open more doors to people that may have felt like our previous brand and name was exclusive to just Ludington residents, we want to welcome players and families regardless of where they live or what schools they attend. Unfortunately, at times, the club has struggled to field certain teams in different age groups due to lack of numbers, so more families we can attract to our club the better chance we have at fielding teams in every age group for boys and girls. With that being said, we couldn’t be more excited with the numbers of U5-U8 players this spring we have playing in our “in-house” league. Our future is bright with record number of players now playing for the club, starting fall of 2022 they will all be united under an exciting new name and entity.

Sincerely,

Adam Johnson
